Elegant Coat-Gloves
These Fair Isle gloves are perfect for wearing in the city or the country. The pattern is by Susan Crawford and the recommended yarn is Jamieson & Smith 2ply jumper weight yarn, the equivalent of a standard 4 ply.
Elegant yet practical these gloves are slightly longer than normal to prevent unsightly gaps appearing between the gloves and your coat cuff.
The design incorporates two distinct yet complementary fair isle patterns knitted on the same row. Due to the nature of the pattern on the palm of these gloves, they are knitted flat on straight needles rather than on DPNs, with a side seam. If preferred, the fingers and thumb can be knitted in the round on DPNs without any difficulty.

Miss Laverty's Motoring Hood
This charming hood pattern by Susan Crawford will keep you warm however cold the wind may blow. Knitted in a simple single rib in an alpaca mix yarn, this pattern is a very quick and easy knit.
This is a simple pattern suitable for beginner knitters. The pixie hood is knitted separately with shaping added at the centre back for a more comfortable fit. The front of the scarf is folded back and the scarf is then sewn in place over the bottom seam. The scarf can easily be made longer to suit personal taste but more yarn will be needed.

Town and City Tufted Cape
This elegant cape is the perfect cover-up for the spring or the autumn. Using a textured tuft stitch it will keep you warm without looking or feeling bulky.
Knitted in a standard double knit yarn on 5mm needles this design will knit up surprisingly quickly.
This simple pattern is easy to follow and is available in sizes from 30-52 inches.
The finished length is measured from the top of the main body at the front neck and includes the garter stitch edging around the bottom of the cape. The cape is very generous and accommodating in size and shape and will fit a variety of sizes. As a result, I suggest you consider what fit you would like before choosing your size. The small will actually fit a 42 inch chest but it will fit higher and more open at the front.
